About the Project
Seeds of Middle Eastern Culture is an educational initiative connecting workforce development, culinary tradition, and youth empowerment. Through “Seed Stories” events, participants share knowledge and experiences with Middle Eastern food—from how it’s grown and sourced to how it’s prepared and celebrated.
The project especially encourages student and youth participation, nurturing the next generation of chefs, researchers, and cultural ambassadors. It is guided by Columbus and Franklin County’s Local Food Action Plan, in partnership with urban farmers, educators, and local experts.
By centering storytelling and hands-on learning, we hope to help participants imagine vibrant futures connected to food, agriculture, and heritage.
