[MES Forum] Fulbright Week is Next Week, Info on Funding for Turkey

It’s Fulbright Week<https://oia.osu.edu/get-involved/signature-events/fulbright-week/> next week and we’re really pleased to share that one of the events will be focused on Fulbright funding for Türkiye. Join us on Tuesday for “Fulbright Grants in Turkey for U.S. Students and Scholars<https://mesc.osu.edu/events/fulbright-grants-turkiye-us-students-and-scholars>.” İrem Arıcan Yiğit from the Türkiye Fulbright Commission will provide an overview of programs. Ohio State alumna and Fulbright ETA currently in Türkiye, Byann Rasul will share her experiences. Information about resources and support available to Ohio State faculty and student applicants will also be provided.

Dear Colleagues –

I am writing to share that Ohio State will hold its Annual Fulbright Week<https://oia.osu.edu/get-involved/signature-events/fulbright-week/> during March 25-29, 2024. This initiative is co-organized by the Office of International Affairs and the Undergraduate Fellowship Office. As in the past, our offices have combined efforts to provide a full week of events acknowledging past Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays recipients and hosting workshops, information sessions and open houses designed to inform potential Ohio State faculty, undergraduate and graduate student applicants about the opportunities available through the Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays programs. All faculty, professionals and students are encouraged to participate in a myriad of Fulbright Week<https://oia.osu.edu/get-involved/signature-events/fulbright-week/> activities.

In addition, please note that the competition for Fulbright U.S. Scholar<https://fulbrightscholars.org/> awards for the 2025-26 academic year is open. The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers over 400 awards for U.S. citizens to teach, research, and conduct professional projects in more than 135 countries. University faculty and administrators, as well as professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, and many others, can join the more than 400,000 Fulbrighters who have come away with enhanced skills, new connections and greater mutual understanding.
Interested faculty and professionals are encouraged to visit the Catalog of Awards<https://fulbrightscholars.org/awards/search> to learn about opportunities that range from a few months to a full year and many awards offer flexible <https://fulbrightscholars.org/fulbright-flex-awards> durations. The application deadline for most awards is September 15, 2024.
Please share this information in your newsletters and with your faculty and students and encourage them to contact our office to learn about these opportunities, available resources, and discuss the application process.
