Good Afternoon,

Ohio State is making plans for a safe and healthy summer term, and we want you to be prepared to do your part. Beginning the week of May 10, you will have the opportunity to pick up a take-home saliva test. Participation in this testing program is not required, but it is encouraged.

Please bring your physical BuckID to pick up a take-home saliva test kit at the Alber Student Center on Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

TESTING PROCESS
Because this is a take-home test kit, there is no physical location to visit to take this test with Vault, all appointments for testing will be through remote testing. When you are ready to collect your sample, log into your Vault account to be connected to a Zoom video call with a Vault test supervisor who will guide you through producing your saliva sample and collecting it in the tube provided in your kit. The whole process takes just a few minutes.

You should not eat, drink, chew gum or use toothpaste or mouthwash 30 minutes before providing the sample.

You should complete your test within 48 hours after pickup. After completing the process and sealing your test in the biohazard bag, as well as the cardboard box or padded envelope, seal everything in the provided UPS shipping bag. Then, you will drop off your packaged sample to an authorized UPS shipping location<https://www.ups.com/dropoff/?loc=en_US> no later than 48 hours after you receive the kit. Please see the attached instructional guide and follow the step-by-step instructions.

COVID-19 remote testing with a Vault Health test supervisor hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. We recommend testing in the morning as UPS pick-up times vary.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE A POSITIVE RESULT
A representative from the Ohio State Case Investigation and Contact Tracing Team and the Student Life Support Team will call you if you have a positive test result. Please note that if results are received later into the night, you may not be contacted until the next morning.
If you receive a positive test result, please do not panic.

  * Proceed directly to your residence, avoid contact with others and make sure you are always wearing a mask. If you live with other people, please maintain at least six feet of physical distance and everyone who lives in your home should wear a mask.
  * You should also strictly avoid contact with anyone who is immunocompromised.
  * You will be contacted by the Case Investigation and Contract Tracing Team to assist with next steps.
  * Please make sure to answer all phone calls, texts or emails for your health and the health of our campus community.

We know that these are challenging times, and we appreciate your dedication to the health and safety of our community. Together as Buckeyes, we will fight COVID-19.
