COVID-19 VACCINE
Portion of vaccine doses dedicated to Ohio State students, faculty, and staff
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced guidelines for employer-based vaccine programs starting the week of April 12. Beginning that week and consistent with those guidelines, we are pleased to announce the ability to dedicate 25% of the Wexner Medical Center's first-dose vaccine allocation to any Ohio State student, faculty or staff member, while maintaining our commitment to our patients and the central Ohio community. This is possible because of the increasing number of doses available to the Wexner Medical Center and the Governor's work to secure additional vaccines for college and university students in Ohio.

ENGLISH MAJORS
[https://osumarion.osu.edu/buckeyebriefs/washington_dc.jpg]
$1000 grants available for English majors through the Place Project
If you are an Ohio State Marion English major there are a limited number of $1000 grants available to support your creative and/or scholarly projects centered around the concept of "place."
Do you have a creative idea you'd like to develop? Do you have question you'd like to research and write about? Perhaps something you could even publish?
This "place" can be real or imaginary-South Louisiana, the Pacific Ocean, your hometown, 1920s Vienna, Broadway, a world of monsters you're putting together for a role-playing game or novel, etc. Your project should involve a significant amount of writing and research but can be scholarly, creative, or some fun combination of the two. Ideal results would be an article-length research paper; a play, videogame script, or filmscript; a portfolio of creative writing, etc.
You will need to:
Check in with me (Sara Crosby) periodically so I can help you with research and writing.
Give a short presentation of your work to the Ohio State Marion community at the conclusion of your project.
Attempt to publish your work in the best appropriate venue possible.
HOW:
Send a short proposal to crosby.91 at osu.edu<https://osumarion.osu.edu/buckeyebriefs/crosby.91@osu.edu>.
THE PROPOSAL:
Include a brief explanation of what you want to do.
Include a couple of ideas about where you might want to publish.
Include a tentative schedule for the project (You can spread this timeline across
multiple semesters if you prefer. Just make sure you wrap it up before you graduate.) You will also
need to promise to follow university safety policy regarding COVID-19 related travel restrictions.
WHEN:
Rolling deadline. The first round of submissions are due April 11, 2021. Thereafter, awards will be distributed as successful applications come in until funds are exhausted.

FACULTY & STAFF TECH NEWS
BuckeyeBox retirement and planned migration to OneDrive
The university is on a journey to streamline our cloud storage solutions, including the retirement of BuckeyeBox by the end of 2021. The migration from BuckeyeBox to OneDrive for Ohio State Marion faculty and staff will begin the evening of August 6, 2021.
We recommend that you do not move files yourself and let OCIO move them for you. When your campus begins to migrate, OCIO will copy any files that you own in BuckeyeBox and place them in a folder on OneDrive called
"BuckeyeBox Data." You will have read-only access to BuckeyeBox files through the end of the year.
Visit go.osu.edu/ByeByeBuckeyeBox<http://go.osu.edu/ByeByeBuckeyeBox> to learn more about the project. Prepare for the transition by joining an online, instructor-led class about OneDrive or Teams. Classes are free and will continue to be offered throughout the year. Recordings of past sessions also are available online.
Additionally, our Marion IT Help Desk is going to be offering a Marion focused faculty and staff training on Wednesday, April 7th at 12:30 p.m. You should have already received an invitation for this event with the event Zoom link. The purpose of this meeting is do a brief overview of the project as well as the One Drive and Teams platform, and to be available to answer your migration specific questions.
We will continue to share information in the coming months to enable you to be successful during migration.
