Spring Semester Transition and Adjusting
Returning to campus after a long and relaxing break can be a difficult transition. If you find that you are feeling fatigued, withdrawn or isolated or are noticing a change in sleeping patterns, you may be suffering from a common mood disorder like depression.
It is important to know that if you or a friend is experiencing these symptoms, you are not alone. 31% of college students report feeling some level of depression during their second semester and Ohio State at Marion has resources and staff to help. Feel free to call or email Leslie Beary in the Office of Counseling and Wellness to set up an appointment to talk at 740-725-6349 or beary.4 at osu.edu.
If you cannot get into her office, you can test your mood at any time by taking an anonymous online mental health screening here<http://www.mentalhealthscreening.org/screening/ohiomarion>. Find out in minutes whether you may be experiencing depression symptoms and what actions to take.
