News for Students Relating to FAFSA, BuckeyePass, and Campus Printing
FAFSA
College students and their families can apply for federal and state financial aid for the 2018-2019 school year beginning this month. While the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also know known as FAFSA, process can be confusing, The Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technical College are partnering to offer free FAFSA Completion Workshops on the Marion campus.
Current high school seniors and their parent/s, or current area college students are welcome to register for one of these free sessions even if they will attend a college other than Ohio State Marion or Marion Technical College. Several Ohio colleges have FAFSA deadlines as early as December 1, 2017, so now is the time to apply. Also, some federal student aid programs have limited funds, so applying as soon as you can would give you the best opportunity to qualify. Many campus-based and external scholarship and grant programs also require students to file a FAFSA each year.
The workshops are as follows:

BuckeyePass
Beginning Sunday, November 5, multi-factor authentication will be added to Student Information Systems accessed through Buckeye Link - affecting all students both online and at our physical campuses. With the recent Equifax breach, and the continual rise in cybercrime targeting all business segments including universities, it is in the best interests of our stakeholders to augment security on our systems as soon as possible.
BuckeyePass requires not only a password and username, but also a second method of authentication that users control. It is recommended that users enroll multiple devices so a backup is available in case of a lost, stolen, broken, or unavailable primary device. Please note, Carmen Canvas is not affected by this change. Some areas that will be protected by BuckeyePass include:

. My Buckeye Link (Student Login [former Student Center])
. Faculty/Staff page
. Tuition and Fees
. Payments and Refunds
. Financial Aid
. Academics and Records
. Enrollment and Registration
. Personal Information
It is VITAL that you sign up for BuckeyePass BEFORE Tuesday, November 5. You can sign up at https://buckeyepass.osu.edu.
Printing
There's a new way to print on our campus. Here's how:
How does it work? The print station can be used for printing, photocopying, and scanning to email. Printing Instructions are posted above the Print Station.
How do I pay for printing? If you choose to print in the library, you will need to load funds on to your BuckID or use a copy card. Library patrons can purchase a $1.00 or $5.00 copy card at the circulation desk. Black and White copies are $.04 per page and Color copies are $.15 per page.
$1.00 Copy Card = 25 Black and White Prints
$5.00 Copy Card = 125 Black and White Prints
$10.00 BUCKID Card = 250 Black and White Prints (online only)
Is the copier card reloadable? Yes. The copier cards are reloadable at https://buckid.osu.edu/ using the card number on the back of the card. This option allows you to load between $1.00 and $10.00 on copier card. Information cards on how to reload your copy card are available at the circulation desk.
Can I use my BuckID to pay for printing? Yes. If you have money on your BuckID, you can swipe it at the print station to pay for your printing. You can load funds onto your BuckID account online at buckid.osu.edu. Deposits on your account are a minimum of $10. Directions on How to Load your BuckID are posted above the print station.
Questions? The circulation staff will be happy to help you get started using the Print Station. For more information visit: https://marioncampuslibrary.blogspot.com
Marion Campus Ag Council

Blood Drive 2017
The Ohio State versus Michigan game goes far beyond just a game. Together, the universities are teaming up to give blood. The Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technical College invites all to come together and give blood. Ohio State Announces New Ticketing Process for Commencement
Due to the steadily increasing size of The Ohio State University's graduating classes, the university has instituted a ticketing process for Autumn Commencement. Beginning this semester, graduating students will need to request tickets for their family, friends and other guests. Tickets are free, and each graduate who applies by Nov. 27 is guaranteed up to four tickets. Graduates will also have the option to join a waitlist for up to four additional tickets.
In order to better accommodate a growing number of graduates, Ohio State has already decreased the size of the commencement platform, relocated the platform to allow for more floor seating, and opened all available seating sections. Autumn Commencement will take place at 2 p.m. on Dec. 17, 2017, at the Schottenstein Center. Students who plan to graduate on Dec. 17 are strongly encouraged to apply through their college office by Nov. 1. Once a student has applied to graduate, he or she will receive email updates about the ticketing process for family and friends.
Additional information is also available at http://www.commencement.osu.edu/.
