Homecoming King & Queen Crowned
Ohio State Marion junior English major Morgan DeWitt, and junior communications major Paul Winters were crowned 2017 Marion Campus Homecoming King & Queen during ceremonies at the Longaberger Alumni House, Friday, Oct. 6, on Columbus campus. Also representing Ohio State Marion were court members: Jasmine Gaffney, Kristina Mason, Julio Romero, and Nic Pomeroy.
2017 OSUM/MTC Campus-Wide Health Fair
Mark your calendars for this year's campus-wide health fair! This event will take place on October 18 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Alber Student Center. Faculty, staff, students, and family members are welcome to attend to gain information on how to stay healthy.
There will be tons of different activities to participate in, such as:

Johnny Steiner opens Five Nights season

Five Nights on Campus, Ohio State Marion's performing arts and entertainment series, kicks off a new season as it welcomes Johnny Steiner to the Marion campus in his one man show, Johnny Steiner Live!, Thursday, October 12th at 7:30 p.m., in Morrill Hall Auditorium. A hometown favorite, Steiner is a professional singer, teacher, director, conductor, pianist, song-writer, and arranger. Steiner will celebrate the "Great American Songbook during his encore performance to Morrill Hall Auditorium. For tickets information call 740-725-6340
HackOHI/O 2017
Ohio State's fifth annual Hackathon will take place on October 21-22 at the Ohio Union. Competitors will design, build and demonstrate their software project within 24 hours. Students from all types of technical background may register (no prior experience needed).

Gallup Accelerated Strengths Coaching Course
This advanced four and one-half day course will accelerate your coaching. You will gain tools, techniques and invaluable experience to help you help others understand how they filter their world. Two groundbreaking digital coaching kits are included in the price of the program: the Strengths Coaching Starter Kit and the Coaching Managers and Teams Kit. The tools, techniques, and educational resources in these kits, coupled with the educational experiences in the course, will assist you in helping your clients harness their strengths to achieve success. This course also includes an individual coaching session with a Gallup strengths coach.

REACH Suicide Prevention Training
REACH is the OSU Suicide Prevention training program design to help individuals prevent suicide by teaching them how to:
Recognize warning signs
Engage with empathy
Ask directly about suicide
Communicate hope
Help suicidal individuals to access care and treatment
All are welcome to learn how to prevent suicide and save a life. The training lasts 60-90 minutes and there are two training sessions: October 10 from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. in Morrill Hall, Room 296 and November 8 from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in Morrill Hall, Room 200.

Propel Ohio Collegiate Leadership Summit 2017
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for Propel Ohio: Collegiate Leadership Summit 2017.
Propel Ohio is a leadership program that promotes civic engagement and inspires undergraduate students to grow into civic leaders in Ohio. Last year, 300 Ohio student leaders and administrators from 69 colleges and universities attended the second annual Propel Ohio Collegiate Leadership Summit.
Propel Ohio 2017 will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017, at The University of Akron. If you are an undergraduate student at an Ohio two-year or four-year public or private college, university or regional campus, you can submit your application here<https://www.brown.senate.gov/propelohio/application>. The application deadline is Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Each of Ohio's two-year and four-year public and private colleges, universities and regional campuses is invited to appoint up to four undergraduate students to attend the program from their application pools. Students will be notified with a decision by October 31.

Work, Eat and Accomplish with Moccasins Saturdays
Moccasins Saturdays are open to anyone who wants to help our group on campus lead sustainability projects, such as the New Growth Veterans Garden, tree planting, raised-bed gardens, community outreach, gutter grow systems, birdhouse building, composting, rocket stoves, and more. People can come and go as their schedule permits.
Students will meet one Saturday per month during the academic school year. They will start each day in the orchard south of the Library Classroom Building near the Prairie. The dates for first semester are as follows: October 14, November 11, December TBA, and January 20.

Psychology Club
All Psychology majors and those who are interested in psychology are welcome to attend the Psych Club meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 10 from 12:35-1:20 in Morrill Hall, Room 224. Come enjoy free pizza, meet with other psych majors and hear faculty discuss the psychology program, requirements, and research opportunities.
India Study Tours: Past and Future
In May 2018, interested students will have the opportunity to travel to India. The India Cultural Society is holding a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 12:30 p.m. in Morrill Hall, Room 125. Kris Kasotis and Nancy Earl will speak about their experiences on past India study tours. Vladimir Steffel will speak about the May 2018 study tour to southern India. Fresh Express Market: October 2017
The Fresh Express Produce Market will be open this month on the 11th and the 26th. The market will be open to the community and campus so come join us for free, and fresh, produce. Our items are different each day so be sure to stop by. We will be open the 11th at 12:30-1 pm and 4:30-5:30 pm. On the 26th, our hours are 10-11am, 12:30-1:30pm, and 4:30-5:30pm. Please join us at the Southwest portico of Morrill Hall (the entrance closest to Maynard Hall). All are welcome so please visit us for your share. PALS Mentoring Program: Information Session
Want to make a positive difference in a child's life? Students, faculty, and staff are all invited to learn more about the PALS (Pride and Life Skills) mentoring program, a joint venture between Ohio State Marion and the Boys and Girls Club of Marion. This lunch hour information session features current mentors, faculty coordinators Ben McCorkle and Nikole Patson, as well as program director Karen Thomas. Food will be provided.
This event will take place on Monday, October 23, from 12:30 - 1:20 p.m. in Morrill Hall, Room 219. Contact either Ben McCorkle at mccorkle.12 at osu.edu or Nikole Patson at patson.3 at osu.edu for additional information.
