Finals Week De-Stress Fest
December 7-17
Take a break from sinals week to relax with some stress-relieving activies on campus! Enjoy free breakfast bars, pizza lunches, open gyms, and late-night study sessions, as well as neck massages and visits from therapy dogs. Wellness zones will be available on campus in the Academic Enrichment Office, the SE Student Lounge in Morrill Hall, and the Alber Student Center.

The Ohio State Marion Social Work Club Sponsors The Giving Tree Project
It's that time of year again! The Social Work Club is sponsoring The Giving Tree Project at Ohio State Marion. Simply choose an ornament supplying a name, age, and gift idea for a person in need. Purchase and wrap the gift, being sure to attach the ornament, and place the gift into The Giving Tree box in Morrill Hall, Maynard Hall, or the Library Building by December 9th. The Giving Tree Project will assist families residing at Turning Point. Turning Point is a domestic violence shelter located in Marion County that provides services for residents in six surrounding counties. Additionally, you will see tags on the trees requesting soap, shampoo, laundry and dish detergent, etc. These items will be donated to the Heart of Ohio Homeless Shelter located in Marion County.
LaBlast Fitness Class Coming to the Marion Campus
December 7 at 5:00 p.m. in the Alber Student Center Gym
Dance classes were one of the higher ranking of fitness classes needed for our campus and LaBlast is a great way to start. LaBlastR is a dance fitness program created by three-time world dance champion and Emmy-nominated choreographer Louis van Amstel from Dancing with the Stars. LaBlastR is a perfect balance between dance and fitness. This workout in disguise helps you learn dances like the Disco, Cha Cha, Jive, Salsa, Paso Doble, Samba, and many more. Call For Nominations - 2016 Ohio State Marion Teaching Excellence Award
Do you know a professor who is dedicated to teaching and from whom you learned a lot? Nominate him or her for the OSU-Marion Campus Teaching Excellence Award! Complete the nomination form online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/STVNJM2 or use a paper copy available at the Campus Information Desk, Morrill Hall Room 150. Nominations will be accepted from November 14, 2015 through January 16, 2016.
2016 Ohio State Marion Undergraduate Research Colloquium
Ohio State Marion undergraduate students from any discipline and all academic levels are eligible to present their research and creative projects at the Ohio State Marion Undergraduate Research Colloquium. All are eligible to win up to $500 in scholarship funding. Research Projects may originate from undergraduate coursework or through formal research mentoring by a faculty member. All Ohio State Marion undergraduates involved in research are encouraged to participate.
The colloquium is structured with two 1-hour poster sessions, where students discuss their projects and answer questions about the research. A Researchers Lunch and award ceremony follows the morning colloquium.
Colloquium will be during the spring semester on Friday, March 25th. Submissions due by Friday, March 11. More information and submission form can be found at: http://osumarion.osu.edu/research/research-colloquium/

Holiday Library Closure
The Marion Campus Library will be closed from December 19th, 2015-January 3rd, 2016. If you have materials that are due while the library is closed, you can renew them online at http://library.osu.edu/account/. If you would like to return materials, you can return them to another Ohio State University Library. Library hours vary during break, please check the University Libraries for specific hours of operation at other locations. If you are requesting materials and know that they will arrive while we are closed, you will need to select another pick-up location within University Libraries. If requesting through OhioLINK, you can use the Pick-Up Anywhere option to select another OhioLINK library site to pick up materials (but make sure the location you select will also be open; many libraries are closing for part or all of the holiday).
2016 Ohio State Marion Study Tour to India
May 3-17, 2016
This study tour has been planned to provide students with opportunities to study and experience Indian culture. This trip will provide a first-hand opportunity to view an emerging Asian nation in a globalizing world. This tour is open to OSU and MTC students, staff, and faculty for a tentative price of $2,650. Students will register for 5 credit hours of HIstory 2798 for spring 2016. Approximately fifteen applicants will be accepted into the study tour. The program is designed for individuals who have an interest in contemporary affairs, global studies and Indias history, cultures, economy, and educational system.
