Explore Ohio State Marion
Tuesday, Nov. 17th, 12-2 p.m. Morrill Hall 1st Floor (Come and go as your schedule allows!) Students interested in learning more about upcoming course offerings, majors on campus, academic organizations, undergraduate research opportunities and more are invited to join the campus community for Explore Marion Day. Faculty, staff, and advisors will be on hand at designated tables throughout Morrill Hall first floor to answer anything and everything you wanted to know about Ohio State Marion. A free pizza lunch will be available for those in attendance!
This event is jointly sponsored by Ohio State Marion Dean & Director, Gregory S. Rose, campus faculty, and academic advising.
A Student's Journey from Mexico to Ohio State Marion
November 18,  12:40-1:30 p.m. in the Alber Student Center Lobby
Join us for the personal story of Ohio State Marion student Alan Esparza-Gutierrez and the many challenges he has faced in learning the American culture.
2016 Ohio State Marion Study Tour to India
May 3-17, 2016
This study tour has been planned to provide students with opportunities to study and experience Indian culture. This trip will provide a first-hand opportunity to view an emerging Asian nation in a globalizing world. This tour is open to OSU and MTC students, staff, and faculty for a tentative price of $2,650. Students will register for 5 credit hours of HIstory 2798 for spring 2016. Approximately fifteen applicants will be accepted into the study tour. The program is designed for individuals who have an interest in contemporary affairs, global studies and Indias history, cultures, economy, and educational system.

- Udaipur
- Jaipur
- Agra
- Delhi

The 2015 United Way Campaign "Save the Dates"
**Yogurt Bar
November 17, 12-1:30 p.m. and 4:30-6:00 p.m. (While supplies last!) in Alber Student Center
Stop by to get a dish of yogurt, fruit and granola for a token donation to the Annual Campus United Way Campaign.
**Used Book Sale
November 17th-19th in Morrill Hall Lobby
Good, used books are asked for donation. Books can be left in the Faculty Services Office, 150 Morrill Hall, or in Administration, 240 Maynard Hall. Books left over from the sale will be donated to the French Club Book Sale.

If you don't have a chance to pick up your pledge form at the November 3rd kick-off, your form will be put in your campus mailbox. Every donation will be appreciated as the goal this year is set at $9,000.00. For those who turn in their pledge forms, a drawing will take place every Friday afternoon.
International Transgender Day of Remembrance
November 20 at 1 p.m. in the Library Building Lobby
Join us for a brief vigil and reading of names of individuals lost to anti-transgender violence during the past year. This event is sponsored by OutLoud.

Ohio General Assembly Internship Accepting Applications for Spring Semester
The Office of Government Affairs Internship Program provides sophomores, juniors and seniors an unpaid, semester-long internship with the Ohio General Assembly. Students selected for the program will be placed in the office of a State Representative, State Senator or caucus policy office in downtown Columbus and have the option of earning 3 hours of credit for their work. The office will be hosting information sessions during the Week of November 16. Anthropology Minor at Ohio State Marion
Did you know you can complete an Anthropology Minor at OSU-Marion? A minor in anthropology with an emphasis on the cultural subfield provides a thorough introduction to the study of cultural diversity around the globe. Coursework focuses on comparative analyses of the belief systems, values, economies, politics, marriage practices, and lifeways of contemporary human cultures.

Cultural Anthropology Minor Requirements:
15 Credit Hours in Anthropology, including:
   -  Anthropology 2202 (Peoples and Cultures: Introduction to Cultural Anthropology)
   -  Anthropology 3525 (History of Anthropological Theory)
   -  A Regional Survey Course (Anthropology 3350, 3400, 3416, 3417, 3418, 3419, or 3420)
             - OSUM offers Anthropology 3420 (Indians of North America)
   -  A Topical Course (Anthropology 3302, 3334, 3403, 3597.01, 3597.02, 4597.05H, 5600,
      5601, 5602, 5614, 5615, 5620, 5621, 5622, 5623, 5624, 5625, 5626, 5630, 5645, or
      5651) - OSUM has offered Anthropology 5625 (Anthropology of Religion), 5624
      (Anthropology of Food), 3597.02 (Women, Culture, and Development), and more
