Marion Campus Students, Faculty and Staff,

On Thursday, May 31st at 7:30 p.m., the Marion Campus will celebrate the many academic accomplishments of students and faculty at the 41st annual Academic Recognition Program at the Marion Palace Theatre.

Below is a listing of the of awards that will be announced and presented on Thursday evening.

International Travel Study Award - presented to all students who participated in a Marion campus study abroad experience this year.
Howard Honors Scholarship - winners will be announced at the program
Senior Honors Thesis Recognition - Gretchen Elizabeth Fogle
Howard Honors Book Award - Ryan Geiger, Melissa Lynn Redick, Emily Amiah Sexton
Creative Writing Awards - Danielle Leigh Wolff, Brittany Violet Long, Rachel Lynn Schade, Jennifer Lou Miller, Timothy Alan Giles, Sierra Nicole Larcomb, Sheree Bonita Whitelock
Digital Media Composition Award - Deborah Lynn Noll
Oliver E. Hamilton History Awards - Cynthia Renee Leyvas, Lauren Ainslie Miller
Babich Writing Award - Emily Jean Smock, Callie Jeanette Bramel
The CRC Press Freshman Chemistry Award - Travis Glenn Blanton
Griffin Society Teaching Award - winner will be announced at the program
Marion Campus Teaching Award - winners will be announced at the program
Howard Service Award - George and Evelyn Ghearing
Undergraduate Academic Excellence Awards - winners in each category will be announced at the program. Nominees are as follows:
                Freshman: Esah Robert Bouziane, Andrew William Clemans, Samantha Rae Secrist, Emily Jean Smock, Sandra Kay Spangler
                Sophomore: John C. Ando, Tamara Marie Blanton, Travis Glenn Blanton, Ashya'Marie Herrera, Patty Sue Sheets, Matthew Christian Webber, Christopher Michael Wilds

The C. Eugene Maynard Academic Excellence Award - winner will be announced at the program.
Nominees include Arika Marie Baker, Jessica Gail Creamer, Casey Lee Edgington, Gretchen Elizabeth Fogle, Tanya Lynn Foulk, Melissa Lynn Lester, Daborah Lynn Noll, Renee Lynn Rush, Rachel Lynn Schade, Wendy Sue Walker, Sheree Bonita Whitelock
The John T. Mount Award - winner will be announced at the program.
Nominees include: Miriam A. Ghidan, Diana Marie Lutmer, Eman Tiba

Additionally,  Associate of Arts Degrees will be conferred and presented to those who completed requirements for the degree between spring 2011 and spring 2012.

The Marion Campus Chorus under the direction of Mr. Christopher Dent will perform, a selected Creative Writing Award piece will be read and a portion of the winning Digital Media Composition submission will be shown.

Following the program, a reception will be held in the Marion Palace Pavilion. All are invited to attend!
