Hello Latinx Studies at OSU!

My name is Nicole and I am a current School Counseling graduate student at Ohio State. I am also a School Counseling Intern at World Language Middle School (WLMS) in Columbus City Schools.

Our school is unique in that more than 60% of our students have arrived to the U.S. in the last couple of years and are English learners. Around half of our students are from Latin American countries and speak Spanish at home.

I am working on planning some programming this fall semester to try to connect our students (grades 6-8) to college students who share the ethnic/cultural identities and backgrounds of our students. I'm seeking a handful of one-time volunteers for a couple of special events and weekly volunteers for ~6-8 weeks for a group mentoring program.

I would love your help getting connected to any students or a student group who would be interested in getting involved in this outreach opportunity.
