[Latina-o_studies] FW: Student Retreat for Farmworker Justice

Hi!



My name is Julia Allwein, I am a 4th year at OSU and I work with the Student/Farmworker Alliance<http://www.sfalliance.org/who-we-are> (SFA), a national organization of students and young people dedicated to working with farmworkers to expand their rights and dignity.



Each year SFA hosts the Encuentro, a student retreat that brings together young people from throughout the country to learn about the farmworker movement in Immokalee FL, and the powerful role students have in this work.



We are so excited to invite students to join us from September 29th to October 2nd, 2022 for this year's Encuentro - Juntos Crecemos/Together We Grow! Together, we will not only learn about the rich history of this incredible movement but become an active part of the next chapter in the campaign for farmworker rights. Organized and led by student leaders in the SFA network - students will spend the weekend collaborating on future strategy, strengthening their organizing skills, and building connections with each other and farmworker leaders. Whether students are hearing about us for the first time or been a long time supporter - all are welcome and encouraged to apply!
