Happy Monday mammography physicists!
I am looking to gain some insight from others with a situation on this
topic.
The GE Pristina QC manual in the medical physics section specifically
states in a note that the STD+/STD+ 3D/2D combination acquisition exceeds
the 3mGy limit by design and “shall not be used” in countries where the
institution is ruled by MQSA.
While the default mode settings can easily be set to another, this STD+
dose mode can be selected on the console during patient imaging.
According to GE applications and tech-support, there is no way to lock this
+\+ combination from being selected.
Leaving this dose mode selection available for the tech during clinical use
seems problematic; I would personally want to turn it off as an available
selection.
Has anyone else dealt with this?
And if so, how are you ensuring compliance?
Am I interpreting this correctly?
Any and all comments are helpful. Thanks for your time!
Respectfully,
