Hi Khalid,

Kyle Jones, Kevin Wunderle, et al published data from the ACR DIR interventional fluoroscopy pilot:

Jones AK, Wunderle KA, Fruscello T, et al. Patient Radiation Doses in IR Procedures: The American College of Radiology Dose Index Registry-Fluoroscopy Pilot. Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. 2023;34(4):544-555.e11. doi: 10.1016/j.jvir.2022.11.003.

Shameless plug: If a site is in the ACR DIR for CT, it costs nothing additional to send XA or DR data.

Hi All,

I have a task to establish facility or local DRL for IR procedures and It is really challenging due to procedures complexity, operator-dependent, standardization of procedure name, and many other factors.

I have referred to ICRP publication 135 and I am just coating
" a published analysis of quantities for FGI procedures, using data from all patients regardless of weight, yields results that are similar to those from an analysis limited to patients in the weight range of 65–85 kg (IAEA, 2009). This is consistent with previous studies which showed that the amount of radiation used for FGI procedures is affected much more by procedure complexity than by patient weight (IAEA, 2009; Miller et al., 2009) (p.72)"

So, my two questions are:
1- which approach you would choose, All patients regardless the weight or 20-30 patients with weight range 65 to 85?
2- is there any recent publications?!

THank you for your help in advance,

Best Regards,

Khalid
