Hi Nima,

Another good resource is the RadiologyInfo.org website found at https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.radiologyinfo.org/__;!!KGKeukY!w7izkwyjT4HjvsZBAyyrCWETSC1kDFxIvA95MMlqdBdCgSMct7avS5_pYr-EdmDCkncf5ytEgnMFahyCeHeoW55d237amFc18wbOmnxw$

The website is designed for patients to answer questions relation to radiology procedures and have a section on radiation doses which can be beneficial. The website has both English and Spanish language and is coordinated between ACR and RSNA. While serving on the committee representing ACR, I had worked on the safety section and had recorded short videos on CT dose, table of radiation dose (used in NCRP 184) and information about MR Safety too for easy consumption.

I often recommend our residents to use this if they need to respond to patients' questions. Patients can check out this website.

Mahesh

Hello group,

Recently I’ve noticed my CT techs are constantly being battered (like > once a day) by parents with questions like “why CT and not MR?” or “why are you ordering a CT with contrast agent for this?” or “is there no other way to image my kid? I don’t want my kid getting exposed” etc etc.

Now usually I’d have a nice concise colorful info-brochure made and have the techs proactively give to the parents before their kid gets a CT. (This is how risk literature like Image Gently actually spread - the need to communicate with parents).

But now I’m stretched out thin and over multi-tasked. Surely, there must be many folks out there who’ve done this and might be willing to share what they have?
