I think your image is lead shot.
Another one below, my uncle (shared with permission, from images requested using proper pipeline, not me taking from my PACS...) from turkey hunting 2024. Some uncle on uncle lead spraying. (I wont tell the story on this list, as it would be off topic, but if anyone wants to hear it, find me at aapm ;) My uncle lived, got a helicopter ride to my hospital from my cabin)
I think for a case of the day, one of ferro vs non ferro bullet comp would be good, there are plenty of papers out there on this, one that simply used the fragmentation likelihood of lead to identify lead bullets could be a good one for residents. Not sure if that is physics though. I have seem some spectral papers as well for bullets, so there could be a spectral CT angle for bullet composition. I just saw a cool one using the siemens alpha for this. You could probably reach out the authors and see if they could share some images. https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0720048X24006144__;!!KGKeukY!0EILyF69jxe_sUMVPGPybbL-eC9j5OvBEzBQr7vz4pqzg1acaaKxefegJZ4vz3uNaWojmtbDtI53cgnPaxjGdCk1dqC1yB8xIs_hllJ1LqfefHTfUg$
(although I think those authors should have also shot them into ballistic gel because that changes the shape a lot depending on bullet material and design)

Hey listers What do you think this 'artifact' is? Oh never mind. I almost forgot AAPM tries not to get involved into politics. But you do agree it would make a good 'Case of the Day' for an RSNA session?😄 This one was a peds case btw. 😬😡 Nima
