Hello, everyone,
We have this 80-slice CT (Aquilion Prime SP) that's relatively new. When scanning our ACR CT phantom using "adult abdomen" protocol, I noticed the default "AiCE body sharp" recon didn't seem to work as expected. The CT number for "Polyethylene" was -81.5 HU (at 120kV), which is outside ACR's criteria of -107 to -84 HU. Other CT numbers were OK.
Strangely, for the same scan data, when using the traditional FC18 kernel (typical for abdomen) I got -86.8 HU, which passed ACR's criteria (and all other CT numbers also passed).
BTW, we have another "Aquilion Prime SP" that has the same AiCE problem for Polyethylene.
Does anyone know why this happened and how to improve the AiCE recon for Polyethylene CT number?
Thanks!
Jim

P.S. We have another Canon CT (Aquilion ONE, Genesis edition), whose AiCE seems to do better. Its "AiCE body sharp" recon gave "-84.6" for Polyethylene CT number.
