During the CMS Quality Measure reporting session at AAPM on Wednesday
afternoon, Dr. Samei, Dr. Wells, and Dr. Barreto delivered three excellent
talks addressing concerns and implementation strategies related to this new
measure.
Over the past few months, we have explored specific methods for
size-adjusted dose (SAD). Our paper examining how different approaches to
estimating patient size can impact SAD and compliance has been accepted by
*JACR* and is currently in press (
https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.jacr.org/article/S1546-1440(25)00440-5/abstract__;!!KGKeukY!0NrpEqC_v0b0f6-H8eh7TaDwPV_Ms38804qhv1HnhgR-GsVEOpz7sx3JG0_-FpQJqHQqjC5ij2k8KJeQQPS0i0CgOy6THshH6HMaSw$ ).
We share concerns about inconsistencies in SAD estimation methods and
protocol mapping, which pose challenges to the effectiveness of this
metric.
