[Intl_DxMedPhys] OEC Elite field size issue

Allen,
Thanks for posting this. I complained to OEC a couple of years ago when we
got several of these units. They tried to deny there was an issue, saying
that if it met the field restriction requirements in the diagonal
directions then it was okay. They then questioned my measurement
methodology. Finally, they told the hospital that they (OEC) had to send
someone out to do extra work to meet the requirements of "their physicist"
(i.e., me). I sent an inquiry to the FDA at the time - who verified that my
interpretation of the regs was correct. I wouldn't call them out on this if
they hadn't been so rude and patronizing about the whole thing.
I am honest enough to admit that I feel somewhat vindicated about the whole
thing. The phrase "GE Healthcare has become aware of a non-conformance"
also makes me laugh because they knew about this at least 2 years ago, and
someone other than me likely pointed it out to them before that. Better
late than never, I suppose!
Rebecca.
