Try a trick that we hams use – a snap-on ferrite choke.

Hello group,

Some of my Radiologists are complaining to me that when there’s a patient inside the magnet, their dictation microphones pick up an annoying static (I assume from the RF coils).

Anyone of y’all out there ever come across something like this?

Solutions I’m thinking of:

  * Wrapping the cable with Copper foil (just to see what happens!). iow, can these be shielded? ChatGPT says there’s something called a “balanced XLR cable”. Any of y’all ever come across these?
  * Perhaps there is a mic model out there specifically addressing this? Maybe a fiber optics mic. But how functional are these?

Thoughts?
