Looking for members interested in the work to define the broad concept of Radiation Dose Indices derived from imaging exams with a focus on the appropriate clinical use of derived indices and how uncertainties should be reported. Dose indices associated with RPT, Brachytherapy and EBRT are specifically out of scope. The committee charge is:


  1.  define the concept of RAdiation Dose Indices from Patient EXams (RADIPEX)
  2.  delineate the appropriate clinical use of the indices. Examples of patient specific derived dose indices include, but are not limited to, Size Specific Dose Estimate, Organ Doses, Effective Dose (estimated for an individual), Average Glandular Dose, and Peak Skin Dose.
  3.  The uncertainties in the calculation of patient specific derived radiation dose indices will also be discussed.
  4.  Appropriate clinical use cases will include examples of using the indices for quality improvement, image protocol optimization and patient safety investigations (fetal radiation dose estimates, unintended exposure radiation dose estimates, potential skin injury investigations).
