Hi all,
A client is asking about physics testing for dental and veterinary testing
in Massachussets, I'm not as familiar with those so thought I'd ask about
it. It looks like the state waived physics testing for veterinary devices
in 2014, only requiring a shielding design prior to construction and a post
installation survey afterwards. And for dental MA sent out a letter in
2015 requiring calibration and PM work every 3 years which also says a
physicsist isnt required to review the PM or do physics testing it says,
but isnt physics testing supposed to be done at some interval? And they
cited 105 CMR 120 as the state regulations.
I dont think physics testing falls under calibration or PM, but seems like
regulators dont take that into account when they write these up. Is there
any federal dental regulations that would require annual physics testing or
is it also just every 3 years or defer to the state for dental and
veterinary stuff? They're also asking if doing installation physics testing
will count as calibration and preventative maintenance but I dont think so
from what I know but wanted to pick others' brains a bit.
