Subject: [PCCLIST] RDA Toolkit update published February 17, 2015
Hi everyone,
Forwarding this message from the CONSER Discussion List – apologies for duplication.
A new release of the RDA Toolkit was published on February 17, 2015. Thanks to Dave Reser, Policy and Standards Division, LC for providing the following information.
The changes to RDA content involved “Fast Track” changes that are relatively minor. Fast Track changes included in the February 2015 update of the RDA Toolkit are available from: http://www.rda-jsc.org/docs/6JSC-Sec-14.pdf
There were numerous changes in LC-PCC Policy Statements. A listing of changes in the February 2015 release of the RDA Toolkit is available from: http://www.loc.gov/aba/rda/lcps_access.html
The majority of the L C-PCC PS updates are not new policies but were published to document policies in the BIBCO Standard Record (BSR) and CONSER Standard Record (CSR) guidelines.
A few remaining BSR/CSR issues will be resolved in a subsequent release.
Some changes of interest not related to BSR/CSR guidelines:
LC-PCC PS for 1.11: Documents the LC/PCC practice for microform reproductions of print resources—this represents a change from RDA “as published” but very similar to the LCRI practice under AACR2. Note that this PS also has a policy for Print on Demand Reproductions and Photocopies—this section of the PS is PCC practice only.
LC-PCC PS for 6.27.1.9: Removal of a requirement to construct an access point with a qualifier when a serial becomes an integrating resource (or vice versa) but doesn’t change its title proper.
