[Heb-NACO] RDA suggestion for AJL cataloging committee (and Hebrew NACO)

While I won't be at AJL this year, I would like to make a suggestion based on what I am doing for the AALL Cataloging Committee and the AALL Technical Services Professional Development Committee (which I Chair).

AJL, which probably means the Cataloging Committee, should prepare training materials for the switch to RDA.  Some of this would just be links to materials available elsewhere, but you might need to produce some materials on your own, including something designed to prepare public service and non-cataloger technical service people (including the many "one person libraries") for RDA. I'll be glad to offer advice based on what I'm working on for the law library community, which like the Hebraica/Judaica community is finite, has unique cataloging issues and includes many people other than research library catalogers who need to understand what is going on. One of our guiding principles, and perhaps chief motivation, is that this isn't a good climate economically to expect libraries to spend money on training, and our goal is to make it possible for everyone to get a proper level of RDA training without paying for expensive courses or workshops.
