Dear NACO Hebraica Funnel members and all other Hebrew LCNAF contributors,

This is a reminder that our official starting day for Hebrew NACO Funnel training begins on Wednesday, Aug. 1 . After that date we will not accept any submissions that are not RDA headings. All Hebraica headings that you create after tomorrow must be submitted to Heidi for review. A formal review with the aim of independence will be undertaken after individual catalogers are considered experienced enough to create NARs according to the rules in RDA Toolkit and LCPS’ on their own. Please let us know when you have completed the webinars.

Please note that after Wednesday  you should not also update or modify any AACR2 NARs These are undergoing examination by PCC for RDA compatibility. When you have become independent for creating RDA NARS we will provide you with instructions on when and how to change RDA compatible headings that were created according to AACR2 into RDA headings and how some of those can also be modified.

The following catalogers have been identified as working with us during the RDA NACO Training period:

Bob Talbott

Jasmin Nof

Barry Walfish

Marlene Schiffman

Sharon Benhamou

Yosi Galron

Rachel Simon

Do let us know if there is anyone that needs to be added to this list and if you have any questions.

Sincerely, Heidi Lerner (Coordinator, NACO Hebraica Funnel),  Joan Biella (Senior Descriptive Cataloger, LC Hebraica Section)
