[Folkfriends] April 10th Black Sounds Concert at Valley Dale Ballroom featuring DJ Set with Talib Kweli

You are cordially invited to participate in Black Sounds: Seen, Heard, Felt, an evening of Black music at the Valley Dale Ballroom<https://valleydaleballroom.com/> on Thursday, 10 April 2025, 5:30–10pm.

This event is hosted by students and faculty at The Ohio State University.

The concert will feature the acoustic jazz of Starlit Ways<https://starlitways.com/home>, the high-energy go-go music of The Deal Breakers<https://www.facebook.com/thedealbreakersband/>, and an electrifying DJ set with hip-hop legend Talib Kweli<https://www.talibkweli.com/>.

The concert is free, but registration is required for entry. Space is limited, so register soon!

There will be light refreshments available for purchase at the venue. Please note that this is a sober event (no alcohol will be served).

The concert is part of a series of events highlighting Black music culture in Columbus this Spring.

About the event and its organizers:

“Black Sounds: Seen, Heard, Felt” is an experiential event collaboratively designed by a group of Ohio State students to engage the senses of the broader Columbus community. Through a variety of workshops, hands-on activities, and live musical acts from local Black artists, we hope to provide a space for a deeper appreciation of Black sonic cultures and the worlds they create.
