Here are some opportunities to help advance research by participating in IRB-approved studies. Below, you’ll find each study’s title, brief description, and link to participate.

Perceptions of Students with Learning Disabilities Regarding Their Parents and School Support and Self-determination in the Postsecondary Education

Wen Zeng, a doctoral student in Special Education at the University of Cincinnati, is investigating perceptions and experiences of college students with learning disabilities about their parents’ involvement and expectation, school support, and self-determination. Students who had a diagnosed learning disability during K-12 education and who are registered with Disability Services are invited to participate in this interview study. Participants will have one 45-60 minute interview and will receive a $25 Amazon gift card upon completion. Participation is voluntary and confidential. If interested, contact Wen Zeng at zengwn at mail.uc.edu<mailto:zengwn at mail.uc.edu> or at 860-771-3724.

Mathematics Learning Experiences of Students with Visual Impairment, and Perspectives of Family Members and Educators

Ishtiaq Ahmed, a Ph.D. student in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University, is conducting research into the Mathematics Learning Experiences of Students with Visual Impairment. Visually impaired students aged 13-22 are invited to participate, along with their parents, caregivers, or mathematics educators. Participation in this 35-50 minute phone interview is anonymous and confidential. Participants will receive a $15 gift card for each interview and a $5 gift card for providing any relevant documents (up to $50). If interested, contact Ishtiaq Ahmed at ahmed.552 at osu.edu<mailto:ahmed.552 at osu.edu> or (614) 282-4197 with any questions or to enroll in the study.
