Hello all,
I am the Phil Smith of whom Mitch speaks. I have written and edited a few books on comics, many of them in collaboration with my academic life partner Mitch and generally featuring the marvellous and revelatory work of Samira. I also work on Holocaust literature, Singaporean literature, Shakespeare, and whatever else takes my interest.
I am associate chair of Liberal Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design, where Colin Beineke (possibly of this list?) and I are in the process of proposing a comics studies class. I am currently in Hong Kong but am in the process of relocating to Savannah. I am the editor in chief of Literature Compass. Prior to working for SCAD I worked at the University of The Bahamas where I created and ran a Shakespeare behind Bars program at the Department of Corrections Facility at Fox Hill.
