We are delighted to announce the publication of the first issue of Simultanea: Journal of Italian Media and Popular Culture, a peer-reviewed open access electronic journal (http://italianpopculture.org/). The first issue features a number of articles that touch upon many different artistic and intellectual aspects of Italian culture, such as design, the aesthetics of toys, disability and otherness in Italian cinema, the origin of Italian sitcoms, pop music and the methods of interpretation, biblical hybridization in American and Italian comics, and more (for the complete index and the articles please see http://italianpopculture.org/simultanea-vol-1-no-1-2019/).


Simultanea is now accepting contributions in English or Italian on any subject related to media and/or popular culture for the second issue, which will be published during the late fall 2020. All contributions should be sent by July 2020, following the procedures stated on the journal's website (please see http://italianpopculture.org/contact-2/).
