CSS friends,

After a long pause following our soft launch at Extra Inks, the web-annex of CSS/INKS is up and running and back in business.

With a goal of hopefully encouraging future contributions and/or conversations, we have just published our first installment of a new feature we are calling, with woeful lack of originality, “What if?” in which I describe a world where comics came into being in the late 16th century and only need be sequential when they feel like it. http://extra-inks.comicssociety.org/2019/08/03/what-if-comics-began-in-the-16th-century/

All CSS members are invited to contribute to Extra Inks, either with their own “What If” speculative polemics, short reviews of comics, longer reviews of scholarly texts or current trends in the field, or, well anything that seems important to our members. Send any suggestions for contributions to extra-inks at comicssociety.org<mailto:extra-inks at comicssociety.org>.

Best,

jared
