The URLF (Undergraduate Research Library Fellowship) 2025

The Libraries are pleased to announce the Undergraduate Research Library Fellowship, now in its tenth year.   The URLF is a ten-week summer fellowship program for undergraduates interested in investigating an original topic of their choice under the guidance of a librarian mentor.  Previous projects have employed a wide range of research methods, including data collection and analysis, textual interpretation, geospatial tools, rare book and manuscript preservation and analysis,  interviews, and data visualizations.  Students awarded one of the fellowships have opportunities to present their findings at a fall symposium following their project, to publish their research, and to build on their inquiries for future work or graduate school applications.



The deadline for applications this year is February 24.

Two workshops on the URLF application process will be held in January and February 2025.

The URLF website also includes requirements for the URLF, the application process, some sample proposals, a list of potential mentors, and the criteria used in evaluating applications. Fellowship Award amount: $6,000 for the ten weeks, paid weekly.
