Registration for Summer 2021 begins this week. Check your enrollment window in Buckeye Link, and let Dina know if a section for research hours or an independent study for a CEGE faculty member needs to be added.      *   a 50% (20-hr) Summer GA appointment requires students to be enrolled in 4 credit hours; students on fellowship are required to be registered for 6.

All students must agree to a Financial Responsibility Statement prior to registering for classes each term. A Registration Lock Hold appears on your My Buckeye Link until the statement is completed. Join us for the first Smart and Resilient Communities Research Seminar: Facilitating urban cooling technology innovation and adoption through living laboratory experiments. This virtual presentation will highlight several university-government-industry collaborations that are being used to demonstrate, test and improve technologies and strategies for urban cooling. A key component of the approach is a focus on targeted and equitable mitigation to maximize benefits for the most at-risk populations. This webinar will feature Dr. David Sailor, Director of the Arizona State University Urban Climate Research Center, School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning. The six-part series features lectures by national leaders in recruiting, retaining and graduating a diverse population of STEM students in science, technology, engineering, math and medicine. The goal is to provide opportunities for faculty, staff and students to learn about best practices and ultimately make Ohio State’s STEM programs more equitable and inclusive. While some events have a disciplinary focus, all attendees will benefit from the perspectives and practices shared. The series kicks off March 3 and wraps up April 14. All events are free and open to the public.

Graduate and professional students can register to attend our Guiding Students to Wellness workshop to learn skills such as active listening, motivational interviewing, and hosting difficult conversations with our student community. Our Recovery Ally Training is designed to train attendees in becoming a Recovery Ally to support others who are in or seeking recovery from substance misuse. Both workshops discuss resources on campus as well as navigating these topics through COVID-19. While Ohio State predominantly serves an undergraduate student population, there are many resources available just for you! Although it may sometimes feel lonely, know that you don’t have figure this out on your own. The Buckeye Peer Access Line (PAL) serves as a non-emergency talk line that provides an accessible space for students to engage in brief conversations in order to gain support and learn about campus resources. Common conversation topics may include stress management, healthy relationship, processing social and civil unrest and feeling pressure to succeed.
