[Cbe-grads] [CEGC Bulletin] - Halloween Party Reminder and AIChE Conference Prep

Hi everyone! I hope your week is going well.

I want to remind you that our Halloween Party will be held in CBEC 110/120 from 6-10 PM on Friday, October 25th. Importantly, if you have not used THIS FORM<https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=NlYJ61IQlUiVKx_53x0RIQNZ8d0xxqZJvrjxmNwfCzdUNU5JUjk5MFo4MzlaVVhJSE1CV0pLUkRYVi4u> to register, please do so now. We have a limited number of sign-ups and would like to gauge the number of attendees we expect as accurately as possible for the sake of our food order-it's important that we consider both that we would like to have enough for everyone and that we would prefer not to spend department money needlessly.

Also importantly, if you would like your lab to participate in our lab decorating contest, to be held earlier that day, please use THIS FORM<https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=NlYJ61IQlUiVKx_53x0RIQNZ8d0xxqZJvrjxmNwfCzdUNlFRN0xYR0U4VlJESlFMSTFONkJYS0YyVS4u> to sign up for it by the end of this week! We have a handful of labs open to the idea already and look forward to potentially making this a super special part of the event.

Now for something new:

As we get closer to the end of October, lots of our department is busy preparing for the AIChE Annual Meeting-and I'll see quite a few of you in San Diego. Many of us will be presenting at the conference, some for the first time, and it's important that we show support to each other and help represent OSU the best that we can. To that end, I have a couple things for you:

  *   We have CBEC 430 reserved on Wednesday, October 23 from 1:30-3:00 (separate calendar invite to follow for students so I don't inconvenience faculty/staff). If you would like last-second feedback on your presentation materials, if you would like to practice running through any part of your presentation, or even if you'd just like to get to know a bit about what others are doing for the conference, feel free to show up for an informal prep event!
