[Cbe-grads] Looking for Panelists - PRIDE in STEM event

Hello all,

As most of you may know, June is Pride Month. To celebrate and educate our LGBTQIA+ community in the CBE department and COE, CGEC will be hosting an event titled PRIDE in STEM!! A more formal email will come with event details, but in general, we will be having a keynote speaker (Dr. Kelsey Best from Civil, Environmental, and Geodetic Engineering) as well as a panel of students and faculty to talk about how being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community has impacted their journeys in STEM careers. This will be followed by a bunch of fun outdoor activities (i.e. tie-dying lab coats and more!) to bring in the celebratory energy of Pride month. This event is scheduled for June 13 from 1-3pm in CBEC 130.

I am reaching out in advance as I am looking to find more students/faculty/staff who are open members of the LGBTQIA+ community to serve on our panel.  We will provide some guided questions, but also leave space for the audience to ask questions. The panel will be about 30-45 minutes. We are hoping to have a diverse panel and would love to have some international representation as well. If you are interested in serving on the panel or have any additional questions about this event, please email Alisyn Greenfield at greenfield.89.
