Hi All,
I wanted to update everyone on the current package protocols and give some clarity to the process because of a situation that occurred last week.
OSU Central Receiving will deliver to CBEC Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If a package comes later in the day, Chemistry will hold the package and I will deliver it to your labs the next day.
Expedited shipping (which can include cold items)
1. Can still be held at central receiving for Will Call. These requests must be made ahead of time.
a. This is still the best way to make sure your package is available when you are ready for it.
2. If no Will Call request is made then the package will be sent out separately and delivered directly to the room number listed on the package.
a. If you have only listed 315 or 314 the package will not be able to be delivered because the main office suite is closed.
b. If you have listed your graduate student office, they will attempt to deliver directly to the lab.
i. Central Receiving wants to make sure that your package will be in the building for you so they will attempt to find another person in a joint lab or will attempt to deliver to Chemistry 165 (which has a freezer).
1. I will pick up your package the next day from Chemistry and redeliver it to your office or place in the 437 Cold Room.
ii. If you sign for someone's package to be helpful. It is then your responsibility to make sure the package makes it safely to its destination. Please do not sign for a package unless you intend to directly place it in the hands of the addressed recipient
c. After Central receiving has attempted to deliver your package and has been unable to find someone to sign for it. They will return the package to the Central Receiving building (on Kenny Rd) and wait for Will Call or reschedule delivery for the next day.
If you have any questions please reach out to me.
