Subject: RTW and OR Stage 5 Status and Guidance

Dear colleagues:

The CoE Campus Opening Committee met to review units Return to Work plans and their OR Stage 5 research plans. We would like to thank you for your effort in completing these requests. All unit plans for Return to Work and OR Stage 5 have been approved by the committee and can begin implementation on August 3.

The following provides some general guidance and specific guidance for our Return to Work and OR Stage 5.

General Guidance
· Daily Health Check/Health Reporting: Effective August 3, the current College/unit health check survey will be discontinued and all faculty, staff, and students must start completing the daily health check (on days they are reporting to campus) through the OSU mobile app<https://www.osu.edu/downloads/apps/> or Compass<https://compass.osu.edu/>. Ohio State launched Compass as a “digital home” for faculty, staff and students to highlight employee information as a part of the Enterprise Project.
o If you are using the Compass<https://compass.osu.edu/>, you must log in and select the COVID-19 Health Reporting Add Record link to submit your health status.
o If you choose to use the OSU App<https://www.osu.edu/downloads/apps/>, please download the app and use the Health Reporting feature. You must log into the app using your OSU credentials to access the Health Reporting Feature and to report your health status.
o Additional information, including FAQ regarding the Daily Health Check/Health Reporting can be found on the Safe and Healthy Buckeyes website<https://safeandhealthy.osu.edu/faculty-staff#fs-daily-health-check-faq>.
· Access Requests: Effective August 3, the College is discontinuing the one-time and ongoing access requests. From this date forward, all faculty, staff and students access needs should be managed by the unit.
· Undergraduate Students: Unless previously given permission via the CoE Undergraduate Researcher Exception process, undergraduates are not allowed to work on campus until August 24, the start of autumn semester.
· University Welcome Kits/Supplies: The College is working to schedule the delivery of the University provided welcome kits for all employees. We hope to deliver these during the week of August 3. We understand that many units have already ordered supplies and will be prepared for some employees to return next week. If your unit is in need of supplies before the university kits are delivered, please reach out to Justin Ellis<mailto:ellis.578 at osu.edu> for assistance. The College has a limited supply of disposable masks, hand sanitizer, paper towels, face shields, and sanitizing wipes.
· Manager Guidance: Preliminary guidance for chairs/directors around COVID-19 issues was recently shared. As updates occur, we will share reminders. Please reach out to Michael, Bobby or Heather for guidance as needed.
· Building Access: Effective August 3, all CoE occupied buildings will be unlocked by FOD during normal business hours (7 am to 5 pm) during the week. Access to buildings outside these hours is managed at the unit level.

Additional Return to Work Guidance
· Based on new guidance from the University and to align with the Office of Research, all units are asked to maintain their occupancy density to 25% through the fall semester.
· The goal is to minimize the number of people on campus at any one given time. By reducing our density, we are increasing the safety of our environment for all students, staff and faculty.
· Return to Work Plans: Please continue to update your spreadsheets for graduate students, etc. Your department HRP will be utilizing the information you provided to help maintain the workforce tracker on a weekly basis as we move forward. They will be working with you and other leaders to confirm any missing information or to obtain clarification, if needed.

Additional OR Stage 5 Guidance
· While all Stage 5 unit plans have been approved and submitted to OR, the exception process for non-OSU and undergraduate researchers will remain in effect until August 24. If non-OSU or undergraduate researchers were included in your Stage 5 template, you must request exceptions before they can access campus.

Training and Attestation/Pledge Guidance
Return to Work
· Training and Pledge
o All students, faculty and staff must complete an online training course and the Together As Buckeyes Pledge. The pledge acknowledges an understanding of and commitment to the behaviors described in the training. It is not a legal waiver.
o The 10-minute training will be assigned to BuckeyeLearn transcripts<https://ohiostate.csod.com/samldefault.aspx?returnurl=LMS/UserTranscript/MainView.aspx> and the pledge will be signed upon completion of the course.
o Completing the training and signing the pledge are mandatory for all students, faculty and staff before returning to Ohio State’s campuses.
§ Those who have already been working on a campus should take the online training and sign the pledge as soon as possible.
§ For those not physically returning to a campus, the training and pledge need to be completed by the start of autumn semester on Aug. 25.
o The training course will cover expectations for daily health checks, personal protection such as face masks, hygiene, staying informed and more.
OR Stage 5
· Training and Attestation
o All new students, faculty and staff participating in Stage 5 Research must have completed the required research training and signed the research attestation form.
o These are additional to the Return to Work requirements noted above.
o Return to Campus Training: https://go.osu.edu/returningtocampus
o Attestation Form: http://go.osu.edu/researchattestation

Please feel free to reach out to me, Bobby Srivastava or Heather Miller with any questions.

Best regards,
Michael
