Thursday's "lecture" and making things up

Well, Thursday was exciting and a little different. Thanks for everyone
for hanging around. I know you didn't have to after what was written
on the board and said to you.
Turns out there probably was a room just across the street we could
have used. But that's a "could have, should have, would have" if I
had known about it.
Just so those of you who didn't stick around know, we didn't cover any
new material. We reviewed a little bit of material for tonight.
Now, about making up this lost time and material. There's probably a
couple of things I'll only speak about briefly and have you read about
them in the book. Something that's pretty simple and straightforward.
Beyond that I was wondering about doing the following which I brought
up today after our "meeting". Some of you stated you couldn't stay
after class because of an engineering class which meets 5 min after
our class.
So here's what I did.
I was planning on coming into my office this weekend to record the lecture
and the post it. Unfortunately, when I came in Sunday morning I was
greeted with doors to the first floor all being closed off with signs
stating
"Authorized Personnel Only". I forgot they were replacing the floor this
weekend. I will try to do so tomorrow, Monday, and post them. This would
be the most advantageous thing for everyone. It means you could watch it
before doing exp 14 pre-lab. It would have been nice to do this last
Thursday
since I would have discussed this exp 14 and how the lecture related to it.
I managed to get this to work in my office today. I just finished the
last 11
pages of Ch 11 Part 1 (pp 1-18). I didn't want to go too much further
as there
are demos I like to do for some of the following things in Ch 11 Parts 2
and 3.
You can find these at my "Notes" link. Please try to look at these
pages before
lecture tomorrow. I know that's not a lot of time but it's only about
11 pages.
Really, it's only about 10 pages. I actually had covered the first one
about
hydrogen bonding last Tuesday but since it's been a week I went over it
again).
Go to the Ch 11 section. You'll see several links. Below them you'll see
"Lecture Videos for Thursday, 10/17", the day which will go down in infamy.
I will need to do a few more pages. I'll see what point I can get to
tomorrow and
then I'll figure out what other pages I'll turn into videos. I might
even wait to do
this in ch 13. I essentially have to get about a total of 25-30 pages
done in this
manner in order to catch up for the material for the 3rd midterm.
This way we don't have to come early or stay late, which I know some of you
can't do. Again, I'm sorry this had to happen.
