missing lab or lecture

The following applies to those who miss the lecture or lab for any reason.
We don't worry about whether an absence is "excused" or "valid".

If you miss the first lab you should come see me before the 2nd lab period
so we can discuss what you missed and the best way of making up the
first experiment.

If you miss an experiment for any reason you need to make it up during your
other lab periods.  We don't allow students to go to other lab periods
to make
up experiments except for very unusual circumstances.  Missing one exp is
not an unusual circumstance and can easily be made up.  If you do miss lab
for a valid reason you should get a written note and give it to me or
your TA.
Unless told otherwise, if you have an experiment you need to finish or make
up in a subsequent period you need to be prepared to do the schedule
experiment
for that lab period and do it first and then if you have time you can
work on the
unfinished exp.  The lab report for an experiment is due one week from when
you complete the exp.  However, there are hard deadlines for some reports.
Look at the syllabus and watch my video version of the syllabus to see what
these are.

If you miss lecture you can look at my notes.  They are on my class web
site,
which is separate from Carmen.  I put copies of my overheads on that
site for
people to download and bring to class.  Go to my homepage,

https://www.asc.ohio-state.edu/zellmer.1

There you will find a link for 1250.  Then go to the "Notes" link. It
would be
a good idea to look at the notes from another student since I don't
write down
everything I say.  You can  then come look at my overheads if you feel you
need to and ask questions about what you missed.
