Fwd: sending me e-mail

I sent the following e-mail before the semester started but a number of you
aren't following the instructions, actually almost no one.  There's one
additional thing.

When you send an e-mail about a homework exercise please tell me which
edition of the book it's from.  I'm allowing the use of several
different editions
(10, 11, 12, 13, 14) and the end-of-chapters problem numbers vary. It can be
hard for me to figure out which problem it is if I don't have the book
edition.

Also, please send e-mails to my account or the lab supervisor account (see
the links below) and not through Carmen.  It's easier for me to keep track
of things and will make sure I get them.  If you don't hear from me in about
1-2 days please resend the message and indicate you've sent it previously.
You can send lab questions to labsupervisor account which could mean a
faster response.  They can be sent to me but I will get them if sent to that
address and sending them there means another set of eyes looking at e-mails.

Please read the instructions below and follow this.

Please don't send me e-mail from Canvas, or if you do, include your
name.#.  It appears I'm getting e-mail sent from Carmen but when
I reply using my e-mail program I'm not sure if it makes it back to people.
It also makes it difficult to track down e-mails based on a person's
name or name.#.

I don't send e-mail from Canvas (Carmen) or generally leave announcements
on Carmen.  If someone isn't checking Carmen for messages they may not see
them.  If someone doesn't have their notifications set correctly they
won't get
the messages via e-mail.

I create an e-mail list using name.#@osu.edu provided by the university
via SIS (essentially Buckeyelink).  That's the chem1250 list.

If you want to send an e-mail to me do *NOT *send it to or reply to the
e-mail
list (chem1250) I use for sending e-mails to the class.   I will get it
eventually
but it's possible it could go through to the entire class.   To send me
an e-mail
use the following addresses,

zellmer.1 at osu.edu

rzellmer at chemistry.ohio-state.edu

You can also send an e-mail to the following address.  Both the
assistant lab
supervisor for 1250 and myself will get the e-mail.

chem1250labsupervisor at chemistry.ohio-state.edu
<mailto:chem1250labsupervisor at chemistry.ohio-state.edu>

Also, I'm teaching 1220 and 1250 this semester.  I get a lot of e-mails.  To
make it easier for me to quickly answer your questions please let me know
what class you are in and include the information I've asked for below.
When
sending me an e-mail make the subject line look something like:

Chem 1250 - "rest of subject"

Examples:

Subject:   Chem 1250 - Help with Homework Problem 1.1

Subject:   Chem 1250 - Help with Exp. 1

*If it relates to lab you must indicate the following:

which experiment
day/time of your **lab
your lab TA's name*

Finally, every now and then I accidentally send something from my personal
account.   Don't reply to that account since I don't check it as often
as I do
my OSU account.   Always send e-mails to me at one of the e-mail addresses
listed above.

Thanks,

Dr. Zellmer
