I know many of you are probably behind and haven't done a lot
in Ch 16 and 17. We will be into the 2nd half of Ch 17 (17.4 and
17.5) in today's lecture. Then even further into Ch 17 on Friday.
This is a little ahead of what's in the syllabus. The syllabus was
done before I knew if everyone would agree to the extra 5 min
of lecture. I'll update the syllabus.
Since this weekend is the July 4th holiday and there's no class
on Monday, July 5th, you'll have some time to catch up.
There's no quiz on Sunday, July 4th. It's on Tue., July 6th.
Please keep this in mind, especially if you're taking other
classes or working.
To help a little bit with catching up, I've moved some of the MC
Tutorials and Homework Review sets to Sunday and Monday,
respectively. These mainly cover the material from Monday of
this week.
I've also moved the due date for the MC Tutorial set for 17.1-17.2
to next weekend since there are actually no problems in the
MC tutorials for section 17.1 (which was covered on Monday).
I've done the same for the 17.1-17.2 Homework Review set.
However, while the due date for this whole set is next weekend
(July 10) section 17.1 will be on THIS upcoming quiz 3 (the one
on July 6). I would suggest doing the first two questions in this
set for this upcoming quiz (cover common-ion effect, sect. 17.1).
