The lab supervisors may have already sent something about this so
this my simply be reiterating what's been stated. I saw a couple of
people with cell phones out this week and last week.
We do *NOT *allow cell phones *in lab*. They need to be put away in
your book bags (not just in the "cubby" holes under the lab benches
or your pocket). We don't want you texting, surfing the internet,
playing games, etc. while you're suppose to be working. We want
you paying attention to what you're doing. Being distracted could
cause you to make a mistake, have an accident, not finish the exp., etc.
While in lab we want you concentrating on the tasks at hand.
Laptops or tablets are generally not allowed in lab. The lab supervisors
will let you know if and when to bring such a device to lab. It's generally
not a good idea to have them out anyway while working with chemicals
as they could spill on your laptop/tablet and probably break it.
*No cell phones are allowed during **review/quiz sessions.*
They must be turned off and put away. ALL electronics except
your calculator must be turned off and put away. This includes
watches since we don't want to have to take the time to see
whether they're internet connectable. If you have use other
electronics during a quiz or exam this would be considered an
academic misconduct violation.
