The following is information about your final exam.  Please read it
carefully and make sure you know where you are supposed to be and when.
If you show up on the wrong day or at the wrong time you will not be
allowed to take the final and it will result in a zero on your final
unless you have a valid written excuse.  Not knowing where and when is
the final is not a valid excuse.  Additional info can be found on the
course web page by clicking on the "Exams" link.

Final - Time and Location (according to lab TA):
------------------------------------------------

MONDAY, July 30, 9:00-10:45 AM (Morning)

LAB  INSTRUCTOR                                 LOCATION

ALL Sections                       100 Stillman Hall - (1947 College Rd)

******************************************************************************

The Final is cumulative and covers the whole semester except chapters 18
& 23.
It also covers ch 11 and a very small bit of solids from ch 12 from Chem
1210
(see my "Notes" link for what to look at for ch 11 and solids).

Check the class web page for specifics ("Exams" and "Notes" link).

******************************************************************************

Arrive at least 20 minutes early.  We will start promptly at the specified
time.  If you are late you will NOT get extra time to finish. You will
need all the allotted time.  If you go to the wrong room you will be sent
to the correct location even if it means you will be late.  You will not
get extra time because you are late.

You *MUST* bring an *OSU* picture ID.  If you do not have one please contact
me.  You need some sort of picture ID.  You will *NOT* get an exam w/o
an ID.
*We will collect your ID.* You will get it back when we get ALL pages of
the exam, scratch booklet and the answer sheet back.

You will get an exam, an answer sheet and a scratch booklet (PT and scratch
paper).  You are *NOT allowed to write on the exam booklet*, only the
scratch
paper. *You may NOT rip out any of the pages from the exam or scratch
booklets.* *The entire exam and scratch booklet must remain intact.*

You do NOT get to keep the final (any part of it) or the scratch booklet
or leave with the answers written down. Doing so will be considered
academic misconduct.

You *MUST* have *ALL* bubbles filled in when time is over.  You will NOT be
given extra time to fill in the bubbles after the TA announces the exam
is over.  If you do not have the bubbles filled in, the answer sheet will
be collected as is (even if blank) and that is the score you will receive.

When there's 5 min remaining you need to remain in your seats.  At the end
of the exam stop writing, hold up both the exam and answer sheet in your
hand and remain seated.  Your TAs will be positioned around the room and
call you up one at a time, one row at a time.  You will give them the exam,
scratch paper booklet and answer sheet.  They will check to see that all
pages have been returned.

Bringan Allowed CALCULATOR (NO other calculators will be permitted.)

          TI-30XA and TI-30XIIS

You must remove the calc. covers and put them away.

We will NOT be handing out any calculators at the final. If you bring
the wrong calculator or forget yours you will be stuck without one for
the final.  That's not a good thing.

You will *NOT* be allowed to have any of the following out or left on:

         Laptop
         Cell Phone
         PDA
         Pager
         MP3 players
Any electronics (including digital watches) other than a calc.

Nothing electronic except an allowed calculator.  Other electronics must
be turned OFF and put away.

*NO
*Pencil cases
Scratch Paper (other than the packet we give you)
Food (See me if you have a medical condition requiring this)
Drinks (bottles, cans, etc. - speak to me if medically necessary)
No hats, head coverings or head bands (religious reasons - see me)

Before the final is passed out you will need to have your calculator
(without cover) and ID on your table top.  Other than those things,
pencils and erasers, nothing else should be out.

******************************************************************************

You need to have your OSU ID #. Most of you will have it on your BuckID
cards (student #). You will use this as your ID number on your answer
sheet.  If you don't have a BuckID you can look up your OSU ID number in
Buckeye Link.  Please memorize it or store it in one of your calculator's
memory registers.  Without this ID number it could take up to a week for you
to get your score in Carmen.

You must also make sure you fill in your name, test form, *test number *and
sign the answer sheet.  This includes bubbling them in on the answer sheet.

*There's one new thing. There will be a number on a sticker at the top
of the
front page of the test booklet.  The last 3 digits of this number needs
to be
written in the Subj. Score box (rather than your section #).  This
number and
your name will also go on your scratch paper booklet. (Again, do NOT put
your
section # here.)*

5 pts may be deducted from your exam score for not having your OSU ID or
the other things filled in on the answer sheet or scratch booklet.  The TAs
will NOT be giving out OSU ID #'s.

Practice Exams:  See the "Practice Exams" link.

1) New Material Only:

Take the "practice final" as an exam.  These questions cover only the NEW
material.  The final exam is cumulative, i.e. covers the whole semester.
There are 70 questions on the final and you get 105 minutes. See the "Exams"
link on my web pages for more details.

There are 21 questions on my "practice final" so give yourself about 52
minutes.  Solutions are posted.  If you want to see how to do the
problems come to the review or see me next week.  If I can do so I will
get some solutions together and upload them and let you know when I have.

2) Chemistry Olympiad Exams:

Don't forget about these exams.  These are perhaps a little more
challenging.
See the "Practice Exams link. I've got partial solutions to the 2016 version
posted.

3) There's also an ACS Study Guide in the libraries (at least the 18th Ave.
location).  There's a limited number of these.

******************************************************************************

The quiz answer keys are posted, as are blank quizzes for practice.

Blank midterms and solutions for midterms 1 and 2 are up.

******************************************************************************

The exam results will be posted in Carmen as soon as possible. I hope
they will be recorded by Tue. and I have all the scores by Tue. afternoon
to determine the final grades.  They won't be done before Wed. since I
have to discuss them with the Vice Chair before they can be finalized.
When we get them done they will be posted in Carmen.  Don't count on them
getting done before Thursday but if they are I'll let you know.
