Problem 17.68 (13th ed).

Someone asked about problem 17.68 in the 13th & 14th eds. (17.66 in 12th
ed.,
17.62 in 11th ed., 17.60 in 10th ed). The solution manual adds 3 equations
together to get an eqn and then add H+ to both sides to get the actual
final eqn. However, when they did this they didn't do it as adding another
reaction eqn and accounting for the K.
It should have been done by adding a 4th eqn, the reverse of the
self-ionization
eqn for H2O and including 1/Kw in the final calculation for the K. I've
corrected
it the best I could by editing a PDF file and attached that.
