There is a mistake either in problem 20.24(d) in the 12th ed. and
20.26(d) in the 13th ed. in the textbook or the solutions manual.
Based on what I know (and I discussed with others) we've concluded
the mistake most likely lies with the problem itself.

It lists one of the products as being Br^-(aq). That is unlikely based
on what the usual 1/2-rx is in acid for BrO3^- and the fact the Br^-
and BrO3 would actually react with each other to form Br2 (bromine).
So instead of Br-(aq) it should have Br2(l) (liquid bromine). It makes
much more sense this way based on the 1/2-rx given in Appendix D
and the answer in the solutions manual.

Also, many of the answers in the solutions manual leave out most of
the intermediate steps and show only the final 1/2-rxs. Do the problems
the way I showed in lecture (and as shown in the book) and you should
get the 1/2-rxs shown in the solutions manual.
