This is a reminder there is post-lab data entry for exp 14
and a post-lab quiz for exp 15 on Carmen. If you finished
exp 14 last Thursday the post-lab is due before coming to
lab on Thursday.
The exp16 pre-lab is one of the on-line data-entry pre-labs.
You can find it on Carmen or at the following link (on my
website or syllabus),
https://undergrad-ed.chemistry.ohio-state.edu/cgi-test/gc-freezing-pt-depression-results.pl
It is due when you walk into lab for exp 16. Of course since it's
on line it means it has to be done before you get to lab. I will be
sending some more info about exp 16 pre and post-labs in another
e-mail.
The Carmen pre-labs and post-labs are not timed. However,
they have to be completed before your lab. If not they will
receive zero credit.
For the on-line data entry you really need to do it in one
sitting. When you don't we can't guarantee what will happen.
Read the directions. I'm finding a lot of people didn't for
exp 14 pre-lab.
For exps 14 and 20 there's a "Get Directions" button
in the top left-hand corner on each page. Sometimes as you
go through the pages the directions change. Click on the
box on each page to make sure there isn't a new set of
directions. It may show up as "More Directions" but even if
it doesn't you should click on the button on each page.
For exp 16 there's an "Instructions" button at the top left of
the page and both the pre and post-lab is on one page, which
looks a lot like the report form in the manual.
Can you do an experiment w/o first doing a pre-lab? Yes.
Can you still do the pre-lab after lab? Yes, we encourage it
(especially for the on-line data-input prelabs - it helps with
the on line data-input post-lab). However, you will still receive
a zero if it's past the deadline (start of lab).
