Here's some reminders about exp 18. You are doing exp 18 in lab tomorrow.
1) There is a pre-lab on Carmen for exp 18. There's also a post-lab on
Carmen.
2)
You will NOT be allowed to use your manual without a penalty. You are
supposed to perform exp 18 entirely from your notebook. If you choose
to look at the manual for help it will be a an 8 pt penalty. This means you
need to do a real good job of writing out your procedure so you can
understand it and follow it easily.
3)
If you aren't finished with exps 14, 15, 16 or 17 finish those exps
*FIRST*. Have your notebook prepared to do exp 18. That way when
you finish the other exps you can perhaps start exp 18. Exp 18
can easily be done in pieces over more than one lab period and it
is fairly short (about 1.5-2 hours). You should have the Carmen
pre-lab done for exp 18 just in case you can start it (pre-labs must
be done before starting an exp). Just keep in mind you will need to
make sure you finish up through exp 20 by July 17. The reports for these
exps can not be turned in later than 4:00 PM on Friday, July 18. Of
course normal 2-week deadlines apply (i.e. if the report is more than
two weeks late by that time it will be zero).
