I've been getting a lot of e-mails asking about the sample calculations
for exp 14. There is a discrepancy between the lab manual and the
rubric (on Carmen). The rubric asks for only Ps while the manual asks
for 1/T, Ps and delta(Hv), including a sample calculation of the slope from
one of the lines.
I spoke to Dr. Tatz. He stated you should show the calculations for all
three in the report. He's only allotted points for Ps in the rubric because
it's the hardest of the three and we want to see a sample for that based
on one set of your numbers. The majority of the calculation points are
already being given when you do the on-line data entry. We still want to
see these three calculations for one line of one compound.
Also, for a sample calc. you only need to show it for one compound
and one set of data. For instance, you only have to show a sample
for 1/T for one of the compounds and one of the T values, not all of
them.
