You should now have access to Carmen. As I said in the link in the
welcome e-mail I sent, I mainly use this for keeping track of your grades.
However, there are a few other things for which you will need to use
Carmen.
1) There are two MANDATORY quizzes you need to take on Carmen:
1) Academic Misconduct (COAM) quiz
2) Syllabus Quiz - wait for this one until after you get a syllabus
(which you can find on line at
the course web page
or in Carmen)
*Syllabus - M,W,F 11:30 AM*

These quizzes are MANDATORY and you must get 100% on each one or you
won't pass the course. You MUST complete these before midnight, Friday,
January 17, 2014 (the Friday of the 2nd full week of the semester).
These quizzes are set up to show you the questions you got *CORRECT* after
you've submitted your quiz. The COAM quiz has 12 questions and the Syllabus
quiz has 14. If you don't see that number of questions after submitting
each quiz,
that means you've missed one. You can figure out which one(s) you missed by
looking at the question numbers carefully in the submissions screen to
see which
are missing. Those are the ones you missed.
If you aren't sure, look at your score at the bottom of the submission
page. If they
aren't listed as 12/12 for the COAM quiz and 14/14 for the Syllabus
quiz, you've
missed questions. If you don't have 100% you will need to take them
again until you
do. Even when you have 100% on both quizzes, Carmen will still state you
have quizzes
to take until the deadline has passed (because you have unlimited
attempts). Don't
worry about this as long as you are sure you have 100%.
You will also need to use Carmen for some of the pre-lab and post-lab
assignments (quizzes).
