I just want to thank everyone for their cooperation at
the final. We started on time and got everything
collected pretty quickly. We also got all the finals back.
I appreciate your cooperation.

I also want to say thanks for a good semester. I know I didn't
get to know all of you or learn all of your names but don't be
surprised if I do remember some of your faces (at least if I
saw you in class). I may even remember some of your names.
I want to say a special thanks to those who continued to come to
lecture. I'm grateful for that. It's much easier to lecture when people
are there. I hope no matter what the outcome, you can say you
learned something. I think there were times we actually had a little
fun and laughed a little. Whoever thought you would be able to
laugh during a chemistry lecture.

Chemistry is done so you can all rest a little easier. I know some
of you are done for good and are probably really happy about that.
I know some of you may have to repeat. That's not the end of
the world, as you may think right now. It happens now and then,
even to the best of students. I know some of you have more
chemistry to come, Organic chem. That's very different but you will
use some of what you learned this year so you may want to review
things before Autumn semester.

If you are planning on going to any professional schools (vet, med,
etc.) and have to take the requisite exams (MCAT, GRE, DCAT,
etc.) I would suggest you keep your notes and other material from
1210 and 1220. The majority of the chemistry parts of these exams
are freshman chemistry related and mostly covering material from
chapters 10-17, 19-21 (maybe some from 23 and something from
ch 18 - usually using material from other chapters to answer
comprehensive type questions). Your notes and homework problems
will come in handy.

The scores and letter grades are up in Carmen and have been sent
to the registrar. I'm not sure you can view them there yet but you
should be able to view them in Carmen.

Before e-mailing to ask if there was a curve think about
what a 'normal' grading scale is and then look at your
score and your letter grade. The raw scores were not adjusted
but the grades were adjusted to a curve.

I know this semester was tough and we covered a lot of material.
I'm sure you all learned at least a little something. If you need to
retake the course please come speak to me before you do, even if
I'm not your instructor. I'm sure if approached properly anyone can
pass this course.

Have a good summer break and good luck next year.

Dr. Zellmer
