I've released the quiz 7 results. You should be able to see your
score, the specific questions you received, your answers and the
correct answers.
There's a blank sample quiz and the solutions to it on my personal
class web page at the "Quizzes" link. You can use it as a review for
the midterm.
Before asking me if there was a mistake in a quiz question check the
sample quiz and solutions to make sure you did things correctly.
After that if you think there might still be a problem, or you just don't
understand something, let me know.
Question #1 asked for the de Broglie wavelength for an atom moving
at a certain speed. I took it from a Sample Exercise. Unfortunately,
the sample exercise didn't include the unit for the wavelength and I
forgot to specify the unit. It was supposed to be nm. It looks like
many used nm but not everyone. Thus, I've given credit to everyone.
The score for the question isn't changing in Carmen, you'll still see a
zero. For those who missed the question I simply added the points
to the total score.
Quite a few people did not get an answer which was even close to the
right answer. That means, even though you've been awarded points,
if you didn't get it correct to begin with you should figure out what
you've done wrong. It could just be due to the fact I asked for 1 decimal
place and in terms of meters you would wind up entering a zero. I don't
think that's the reason for most people who missed the question. I
could tell some missed it because you needed to get the mass of a
single molecule in kg. You couldn't just use the molar mass in kg.
If you missed the quiz, I suggest you download the sample quiz and take
it, timing yourself with the time given at the top of the quiz. Then check
the solutions I've posted and "grade" yourself.
